Don’t Wait Until Disaster Strikes to Implement a Business Continuity Plan

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans help ensure your business is up and running, with the least amount of downtime, in the event of a natural disaster or other disruptive event. It’s important to not only have plans in place, but to test, update and retest these plans often, including all employees, contractors and other affected parties.

In the below video, filmed at a recent Avaya Houston User Group (HUG) meeting, Jordan Reinhardt discusses how today’s technological advances can help maintain your company’s most valuable asset in a disaster scenario, including how and when you should evaluate your business communications continuity plan. Jordan is a Senior Systems Engineer with Lantana Communications, responsible for complex project deployment and solutions architecting. Jordan previously served as a Technical Manager within Avaya’s Backbone Engineering organization where he handled critical escalations, mentored and delivered training for engineers around the globe.

Jordan also highlights Lantana customer Invesco, Ltd. Invesco is one of the largest independent investment firms dedicated to helping people worldwide build their financial portfolio. You’ll hear from Invesco Senior Telecom Engineer William Herrera, and learn about the pioneering efforts Invesco set forth to automate Disaster Recovery while further enhancing their end-user experience.

As mentioned by Jordan in the video, here are a few tools to get your disaster recovery and business continuity planning under way: BCDR Communications Checklist, Contingency Management Checklist and Disaster Recovery Testing Worksheet.

You can also hear Jordan speak live and in-person at the upcoming IAUG Conference at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 at 03:15 pm.
