Avaya a Visionary – According to the Latest Gartner Report

Great businessman and technology visionary, Steve Jobs, once said, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”

Avaya has recently worked on establishing themselves as a leader in the industry with their latest solution and product additions. And apparently, the hard work has paid off. Last week, Avaya announced that they were positioned as a Visionary in Gartner’s recently published 2012 Magic Quadrant for their Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure.

So how does Gartner come up with the companies they place in their “Magic Quadrant”?  According to the firm, “a vendor in the Visionaries quadrant has demonstrated the ability to increase the features in its offering to provide a unique and differentiated approach to the market. A Visionary will have innovated in one or more key areas of access layer technologies.”

Buying behavior at the edge of the network is being influenced by three trends in 2012: increased mobility, limited IT resources and reduced IT budgets. As these needs keep begging to be met, enterprises are seeking unified solutions that promise a seamless experience to users – and that’s where Avaya’s Virtual Enterprise Network Architecture (VENA) comes in.

How does Avaya’s VENA deliver on the promises?

  • Enables organizations to simplify the design and management of their networks
  • Streamlines the deployment of cloud-based services
  • Improves the delivery of always-on content and applications
  • Integrates with Avaya’s Ethernet switching portfolio, wireless products and security capabilities to provide enterprises with a complete unified access solution

What do you think of the Avaya being named a Visionary of 2012? Do you find their influential trends to match those that your company faces in buying decisions? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
