Palo Alto Positioned as a “Leader” in the Gartner Magic Quadrant

May 15th, 2014

For the third year in a row, Palo Alto Networks has been positioned as a “Leader” in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls. And as a Palo Alto partner, we at Lantana couldn’t be more thrilled (though not surprised)!

According to the Gartner report, “Products must be able to support single-enterprise firewall deployments and large and/or complex deployments, including branch offices, multi-tiered demilitarized zones (DMZs) and, increasingly, the option to include virtual versions.” Additionally, “through 2018, more than 75% of enterprises will continue to seek network security from a different vendor than their network infrastructure vendor.”

Palo Alto a Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant
According to René Bonvanie, chief marketing officer at Palo Alto Networks, “we believe Gartner’s report articulates the reasons why enterprises – en masse – are migrating to next-generation firewalls. Our customers continue to advocate to their peers, stakeholders and the broader analyst community that Palo Alto Networks is the definitive leader in this transformed network security market.”

Founded in 2005, Palo Alto Networks is the network security company. The company has pioneered the next generation of network security with an innovative platform that allows users to secure their networks and safely enable an increasingly complex and rapidly growing number of applications.

At the core of this platform is the next-generation firewall, introduced by Palo Alto nine years ago, which delivers visibility and control over applications, users and content within the firewall using a highly optimized hardware and software architecture. Their commitment to innovation allowed them two years ago to once again change the industry with the introduction of WildFire and a next-generation threat cloud that focuses on detecting and defending against the most advanced, unknown threats.
