Project Manager
Job Description:
Manage the implementation of low voltage cabling systems and small to large voice and data systems. This position is requires excellent customer services, multi-tasking and time management skills. The Project Manager interacts with external clients, Lantana sales and technical staff members and vendors. This position serves as a means channel between the sale and implementation of Lantana products and services. The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple resources; including hardware, software, and labor to meet customer expectations and maximize company profitability.
Responsibilities:
Effectively manage vendor relationships and performance.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Oversee projects from beginning to end.
- Build Long term customer relationships, meeting customer expectations and offering innovative solutions.
- Plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Review and track project costs and any change orders to maximize project profitability and minimize job costing.
- Track and manage expenditure against budget.
- Dispute change orders submitted by subcontractors and vendors that are a result of corrective action outside of the scope of the Lantana installation agreement and schedule.
- Develop robust and achievable work plans, including management of scope and project risk.
- Track and manage IT project activities and deliverables towards agreed outcomes, and identify and develop mitigation strategies to manage project inter-dependencies
- Provide timely and accurate progress reports and project documentation to management, vendor and clients.
- Develop and deliver effective communication materials for various audience groups, including project plans, training materials and other project specific documentation.
- Effectively manage relationships with project stakeholders, including customers, General Contractor, Subcontractors and Construction Project Managers and IT delivery teams.
- Manage relationships with vendors and third party suppliers
- Provide knowledge and guidance to others in the development of deliverables
- Ensure technology solutions are aligned with customer IT and physical architecture.
- Structure IT project teams to incorporate required skills, from team members and delivery partners
- Identify and prioritize work demands for the project team, assign duties and manage delivery of objectives.
- Portray leadership behaviors which encourage productive working relationships and a strong performance culture
- Encourage innovation and improvement within the team, assessing and providing feedback on the quality of suggestions
- Evaluate effectiveness of project management tools, processes and methodologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Work within a team environment and provide assistance in the management and leadership of your team.
Requirements:
- Degree in information technology or related field
- In depth knowledge of telecommunication products and services.
- Experience as a project manager in overseeing the installation of small and medium business telephone systems, including implementation of infrastructure and end user training.
- Experience in managing the implementation of category 5E, 6 and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong organization skills
- Positive attitude; ability to build relationships, customer service and commercial orientation.
- Attention to detail, proactive and ability to identify potential threats / weaknesses and prevent expense overruns or installation delays.
